I was recently watching the Today show while passing time on a treadmill. An interview with an MD about vitamines and their effectiveness came on. It was irritating. While clearly there are outrageous claims made by suppliment makers and sales, it should not be used as a reason to not take ANY supplements. The reality is our food (even the well “rounded” meal), does not have the nutritional value it did 50 years ago. What to do? All the options are beyond me. But I do know we need to fill the holes our meals leave due to modern farming techniques which are not able to replenish the land with important minerals and nutrients.
