News of 3rd party reviews on chiropractic always make me a little nervous. Honestly, in my 15 years inside the profession I don’t recall a disastrous review of literature regarding chiropractic. But I also don’t recall ones that are over the top praising my amazing profession (if I don’t say so myself). The problem for chiropractic is a bias against studies which overtly use words like–subluxation, chiropractic, and adjustment–and the inheirent problems of “case studies as evidence.” So there is very little literature to support chiropractic care beyond “cricks,” sprains, and strains.
So here is another survey. A Cochrane Review. Very conservative. Positive review as far as it goes. So with mixed feelings…here it is. http://www.chiroaccess.com/Articles/Chiropractic-Care-for-Low-Back-Pain-A-Cochrane-Review-Update.aspx?id=0000154
