Boosting Immunity

Dr. Mercola has a great post on his Health Blog. He puts together a list of foods that boost immunity. And even better, they are easily found in our grocery stores!

Many people are not aware of the how chiropractic can improve immune function. It is actually a very well documented benefit. For multiple references see the ICA web site on immune function.

One amazing study looked at the effects of upper cervical adjustment to the CD4 counts of HIV positive patients.

“These tests were performed by the patients independent medical center where they were under medical supervision for the regular group were dramatically increased over the counts of the control group. A 48% increase in CD4 cells was demonstrated over the six month duration of the study for the adjusted group.” The control group CD4 count dropped 7%.

Many will say this study was too small and too short to actually “prove” anything. They are likely correct. BUT, the results are staggering and have not been shown to be inaccurate. It isn’t a stand alone study in regards to improved immune function and chiropractic. We’ll continue to explore the topic on future posts.
